Meet the Family: Akshay

It's finally Meet the Family Friday! 🥳 In honor of Diwali next week, we highlight proud Upward Scholars volunteer Akshay!

Akshay has become an integral part of the Upward Scholars family, participating in Conversation Clubs and opening his home with executive director Dr. Linda Prieto for staff meetings and events. On more than one occasion, he also lent his van to the Upward Scholars staff to facilitate transportation and carpooling. Recently, Akshay supported the team by helping to pack swag boxes for students, which included an Upward Scholars backpack, water bottle, notebook, and other goodies.

He says, "Upward Scholars gives opportunities for everyone to get an education and improve their lives. I am honored to be part of this work and look forward to the impact we continue to have on our community.
