Upward Scholars’ 6th Annual Graduation Celebration

In 2020, when none of the community colleges hosted graduations for students, Upward Scholars stepped up to celebrate our students virtually with our first-ever Graduation Celebration. The celebration is so popular among the Upward Scholars family that it is now an annual event.

In Spring 2025, Upward Scholars will have about 40 graduates from Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College.

Students earn certificates of achievement in areas like Preparation for Academic Scholarship and Success (PASS), Accounting, Early Childhood Education, Bilingualism and Biliteracy in English/Spanish, and Esthetics. Students also earned associate’s degrees in areas such as Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, and Social Work & Human Services.
