Meet the Family: Estefanía

Meet the Family Friday is back! 🙌

Introducing the newest member of the Upward Scholars team—Estefanía Estrada! Estefanía is a current Upward Scholars student at Berkeley City College and Merritt College and has recently joined the team as our first Student Intern in the East Bay!

Born in Mexico and raised in Oakland, Estefanía is an immigrant with deep roots in her community. She understands firsthand the struggle millions of immigrants face. When Estefanía began her studies, she promised to continue her education to achieve her career goal—to serve underrepresented communities as a healthcare professional.

"I am very passionate about community health education and promoting adult higher education to increase quality job opportunities for underrepresented communities," she says. As a Student Intern, Estefanía will be instrumental in our outreach in the Peralta Community College District.
