Meet the Family: Marilyn

Happy Meet the Family Friday and 2-year board anniversary, Marilyn! 🎉

Marilyn is the current Board Vice President and Recruitment Chair and serves on the Fund Development & Marketing and Board Governance committees. She has been instrumental in planning our recent gratitude gathering, graduation celebration, and launching staff appreciation and wellness activities.

After attending an Upward Scholars fundraising event, Marilyn was "incredibly moved by the resiliency and ambition of our students to work hard and make a better life for themselves and their families despite what can seem like insurmountable obstacles. Becoming involved with the board of Upward Scholars seemed like an obvious way for me to help our students achieve their goals," she says.
